An airplane passenger whose drunken habits on a Hawaiian Airways flight compelled the aircraft to land mid-flight has been ordered to pay the airline $172,000.

Kyong Chol Kim was sentenced on Wednesday to 6 months in jail and ordered to pay the hefty effective for his antics, which compelled the February flight certain for South Korea to return to Honolulu.
