Shake Shack opening sprawling restaurant in theater district


The theater district is getting a Shake Shack.

The hamburger and crinkly fries outfit will open on the West 53rd Road aspect of 1700 Broadway on the northwest nook of Seventh Avenue. The house is down the block and throughout Broadway from Stephen Colbert’s present on the Ed Sullivan Theater.

The restaurant’s 3,268- square-foot lease contains 2,009 sq. ft on the bottom ground adjoining to an out of doors eating space with 152 seats that may activate the now-sleepy plaza. It has 588-square- foot mezzanine and a 671-square-foot basement. Oceana Poke, Pret A Manger and Starbucks even have places on the workplace constructing. The architectural agency, Gensler, is the most important tenant, with 125,000 sq. ft.

Matthew Chmielecki and Preston Cannon of CBRE represented the favored chain.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Steven Soutendijk, Kenji Ota and Neil Seth represented the Rockpoint Group possession within the 15-year lease. The asking hire was $300 per sq. foot for the house.
